The Youth Braid Hangout

The Youth Braid Hangout is a hands-on braiding experience designed for youth ages 7–14 who want to learn the basics of braiding in a fun, supportive, and confidence-building environment.

During this experience, participants will learn beginner braiding techniques including proper hand placement, simple braid patterns, and parting basics while practicing on their own mannequin head.

This event focuses on skill-building, creativity, patience, and confidence, while introducing youth to foundational hair skills in a welcoming and encouraging space.

To make the experience even more enjoyable, participants will also have time to relax, connect, and build new friendships while enjoying lunch together.

What’s Included

Each participant will receive a full take-home braiding kit, including:

• Mannequin head 

• Braiding rack

• Braiding hair

• Rat-tail comb

• Sectioning clips

• Braiding gel

• Mini mousse

• Mini spray bottle

• Hair accessories

• Beginner braid guide

• Custom “the youth braid hangout” canvas bag

• Certificate of completion

Lunch will also be provided: pizza, cupcakes, juice, and water.

Price: $175 per participant

This experience is designed to be beginner-friendly, so no braiding experience is required.

Spots are limited to maintain a small-group learning environment where each participant receives support and guidance.
